Is it necessary to change the Champions League and gamble on a closed European Super League?
The answer is no, as the Champions League of 2018/19 is proving that you shouldn't try to fix something that's not broken.
Liverpool, like Ajax, Tottenham, Manchester United and Juventus before them, have shown that in football nothing is impossible.
These comebacks and this wild Champions League season, will never be forgotten.

Liverpool's leave Barcelona without a final

The latest example from this Champions League season was Liverpool.
Without Mohamed Salah or Roberto Firmino, they still overcame Barcelona who had a three-goal lead.

Set-pieces proved our undoing. In an action-packed and entertaining first half, we went behind to a goal from Jeff Hendrick that followed a corner but scored two very well-worked strikes of our own, the first a fifth of the season for N’Golo Kante, the second fired in by Gonzalo Higuain. However a Burnley side looking for the last few points to guarantee their safety used their aerial ability from a free-kick to set up Ashley Barnes to make it 2-2, a set-back from which we could not recover despite plenty of time left to play in the game.

Barring an unexpected turn of events in the coming weeks,  James Rodriguez will be a  Real Madrid  player again on 15 June, which is when  Bayern Munich 's option to purchase the player will expire. The Bavarians have decided to let the Colombian move on after two seasons on loan rather than buy him outright as his relationship with coach  Niko Kovac  is seen as irreparable. A number of people high up at the German club want  James  to remain, but the Croatian coach has been far from pleased with the player since he made it clear last summer that he wanted to leave Germany to return to  Madrid . Julen Lopetegui  asked him to return, and  Kovac  was unhappy at how the player was eager to make the move back to Spain. James  signed for  Madrid  in the summer of 2014 for 80 million euros, but his return this summer will only be a temporary step before moving on again.
